Krystal & Shane’s New Year’s Eve Wedding at Birch Hill Catering
Event Date: Friday, December 31, 2021
Location: Conservatory Ballroom and Atrium
Guests: 99
Krystal and Shane’s New Year’s Eve wedding was a sparkling celebration of love, family, and the beginning of their forever. With a winter wonderland theme and heartfelt moments woven throughout the evening, it was the perfect way to ring in 2022.
A Ceremony to Remember
Krystal and Shane’s ceremony took place in the Conservatory Atrium, beautifully adorned with candlelight, birch trees wrapped in soft snow blankets, and greenery lining the aisle. Guests were welcomed with iced water and tea to keep them refreshed as they waited for the magic to begin.
As the clock struck 7:00 PM, Krystal arrived in style, waiting on the shuttle before making her grand entrance. Led down the aisle by her grandfather, who also officiated the ceremony, Krystal’s radiant presence brought an emotional warmth to the chilly December evening. With Shane teary-eyed at the altar, the two exchanged vows surrounded by their closest family and friends, starting their forever in the glow of twinkling lights.
Cocktail Hour & Reception
After the ceremony, guests transitioned into the Conservatory Ballroom for a lively cocktail hour. The bistro display featured warm pretzel bites with jalapeño beer cheese and crisp calamari, while hand-passed hors d’oeuvres like bacon-wrapped scallops, mac and cheese bites, and spinach-stuffed mushrooms delighted the crowd.
Krystal and Shane joined their guests just in time to enjoy their sparkling welcome and signature drinks: a Malibu Sunset for the bride and sugar-free tequila lemonade for the groom. The ballroom was transformed into a cozy yet elegant space with white tablecloths, dark green napkins, and blue uplighting to set the wintery mood.
An Elegant Winter Feast
The plated dinner was a feast for the senses:
Entrées:
French-cut chicken with boursin cream sauce over sautéed spinach.
New York strip paired with shrimp scampi.
Butternut squash ravioli topped with roasted root vegetables for vegetarian guests.
Sides:
Roasted garlic mashed potatoes with asiago.
Honey ginger-glazed carrots.
Following dinner, Krystal and Shane shared a romantic first dance, joined partway by their wedding party. Parent dances added a heartfelt touch, with laughter and tears shared by all.
Desserts, Dancing & A Countdown to Forever
Krystal’s aunt Lisa created a stunning carrot cake adorned with cider donuts, complemented by extra sheet cakes and donuts for guests to enjoy. The DJ kept the dance floor alive as the clock ticked closer to midnight.
At 10:30 PM, the open bar transitioned to a cash bar, allowing everyone to savor the last hours of the year. Guests were handed champagne for the countdown, and as the DJ led the cheers, the ballroom erupted in celebration. Krystal and Shane welcomed the new year with a sparkler send-off—a magical finale to an unforgettable day.
